Thrift, prudent, economical, etc. are all definition of the word “Frugal”. Saving money for something is also a quality of being frugal. I have written several articles about saving money and how to spend wisely through buying products on sale most especially from a Group Buying site.
Awhile ago before writing this post, I read an article about the truth behind being frugal and it shocked me so much.
Fitz Villafuerte wrote in his blog about “The Shocking Truth About Frugality” which is very informative. For me, being frugal does not really bring you to become rich quickly, though it could help you save money enough to pay your debts but it is not always the case.
Rich people become rich not because they are frugal but because they know how and where to spend their money. Let me share a real experience from a friend of mine. One day we talked about how we save our money and how we spend it. He said, he saves his money by not buying delicious food so that he could buy the latest gadgets like iPad, etc. I shared with him my reasons why I save money. I said, I save my money for a future business. I see to it that when the time comes I need to open a business, I have enough fund to finance my dream business.
Being frugal for your future is good, otherwise it will just give headache and would even make you poorer.
The idea of saving your money to be spent on things only for your desire is not a good idea.
