I have not read the full draft of the law but I do hope that the law must seriously deal with the issues related to online fraud and scam. I am referring to PayPalPaypal to Bank Withdrawal Problem & Other Issues. Read more ... » account hacking that had happened in the previous years. I know, a lot of Filipinos were victimized by certain PayPal Hackers or Scammers. Hacking ones financial account online is a heinous crime and someone who is caught doing such activity must be liable and must be punished more than that of the libel.
This is my request to those who are protesting this cyber crime law that they would also include the issue in financial account hacking.
Few years ago when I experience being scammed by some groups of people from the Philippines (some are foreigners based in the Philippines) through paypal. These people were victimizing PayPal users from the Philippines who don’t know much how PayPal works most especially the filing of dispute. Philippine sellers who used PayPal were the victims of the syndicate.
I hope I could get a copy of this law so that I could also participate in the on going protest and amendment of this law.
