Wage increase in the Metro is the under trial. The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) has not yet announced the final decision on the proposal of the latest wage increase in Metro Manila and the other Provinces nearby. It was just this January when NWPC gave new regulations to increase the minimum wage of all ordinary workers in the Metro and other provinces.

National wage board suggested this new wage hike in favor of the employees who are just earning minimum based on the latest cost of living and other basic commodities which already increased. This wage increase will greatly affect more business firms and absolutely affect the operation and would probably end into closure of the business and business establishment.

For business owners, this wage increase is a Bad News but for the employees,  this is a good news as the commodities are rising so rapidly. The rapid oil price hike and increase of the fare in the public utility vehicles is one of the reasons of this new wage hike resolution.
