Supposedly the show would have been suspended to air live or had to be ended on April 8 but because of some circumstances, the show went on as usual.

On the announcement made by Willie, he said that the show will just be taped and not live for they will just be resting for two weeks and after which, they will think if they will continue the show. We already heard on the news, read on newspapers, seen on televisionLost: The Complete Series Boxset. Read more ... » news, and read on some blogs that Willing Willie’s major sponsors like Procter and Gamble Philippines, Mang Inasal, unilever, etc. had pulled out their advertisement placement on the show. Willie mentioned and still gave hope to the Filipino people who are patronizing the show that he and TV5 will still run the show even without sponsors and will just use their own money for the prizes to be given to the contestants.

On the online news published by ABS-CBNnews.com, DSWD pointed out that Willie violated the “Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act and a blatant manifestation of child abuse,”

I am not bias for this article but in my own opinion, there was nothing wrong with Willie when the boy danced in his show. In fact, the one to be blamed must the parents of the contestant if there was a violation of the RA. They permitted the child to give such number as talent for the show. Willie was not even aware of the boys talent rendition. Willie was right that the very purpose of the show (Talent rendition) was to entertain the public and there was no intention of exploitation or whatever DSWD had mentioned. Besides, the aunt of the child who accompanied him in the show was also laughing when Jan Jan do the Macho Dancing.

Correct me if I am wrong, the P10, 000 given to the Jan Jan after dancing or giving his talent was not a payment of what he did. Willie usually give bonus prizes to contestants who could entertain and has exceptional talent. In the case of Jan Jan, I think his talent seemed to be unique in a sense that he is only a child yet he danced that way. Everybody was surprised he did that even Willie because if you review the episode it happened, Willie thought Jan Jan would render a song but Jan Jan said he wont sing and when it was already his time to give his talent, everyone in the studio was amazed.

To all government agencies you should think of the welfare of all the citizens. Please review Willie’s word in the April 8 episode and consider everything.

  1. I’m confused why they singled outanjan’s dancing in willing willie when in fact there’s a lot of tv programs in other tv networks that show unbecoming acts of children just to get the nods of the judges. For instance, the 8 year old girl who performed a belly dance during the audition of Pilipinas Got Talent Season2. The girl was wearing a bra, her entire tummy exposed, her face and hair fully made up to make her look older while she danced seductively to the music. This got her a “yes” vote from the 3 judges. Unfortunately, nobody tweeted about this. At least janjan was fully clothed when he danced. And for the info of those who were not able to watch the whole episode of willing willie, the boy did not cry because he was forced to dance, he cried when he saw bonel balingit standing beside him, and who wouldn’t be, balingit is such a huge man. I bet most of the critiques only saw a segment of the show which was maliciously posted in youtube, thus the hasty conclusion. Indeed, incomplete info is such a dangerous thing.

If we are really serious in protecting our children’s rights, the rules should apply to all tv shows. Singling out one tv show is discriminating and only confirms the suspicions of many that there’s something fishy about this case. Using an innocent boy just to get back at someone also constitutes child abuse. If the boy only danced in Eat Bulaga or in any ABS CBN show, I’m sure nobody would give a damn!

to those artists, politicians and so called champions of children’s rights, instead of just blaming the parents and show organizers, they should have looked into the root cause of why janjan and other kids like him, do what they do. As role models and legislators of this country, what have they done to prevent such acts. Or are all being hypocrites here?
