Hidilyn Diaz finally conquered the biggest achievement for the Philippines in the Olympics stage after winning the country's first ever gold medal Monday night in Tokyo. Diaz won the gold in her fourth straight Olympics appearance, following up her silver finish in Rio 2016.
The latest pride of the Philippines in sports tallied a total of 224 kilograms, 97 kgs in snatch and 127 in the clean and jerk. The country is surely in celebration after this huge feat.
Hopefully, more golds would be won as boxers Eumir Marcial, Carlo Paalam, Nesthy Petecio and Irish Magno are all in track of a podium finish.
