Tokyo Olympics 2020: Nesthy Petecio Barges Into Round of 16

         Nesthy Petecio of the Philippines barges into the Round of 16 of the women's featherweight division at the recently opened Tokyo Olympics. The Filipina pugilist opened her gold medal run with a dominant win against the lanky Congolese Sakobi Matshu Marcelat, 5-0.

        Petecio got the nod of all five judges, 30-27, 30-27, 30-27, 30-27, 29-28. The 2019 AIBA gold medalist will next face Lin Yu-Ting of Chinese Taipei in the Round of  16 on Monday, July 26. Yu-Ting is the current top seed of the featherweight division.
